Crossfire

BIO:

Being into dance music acts such as Underworld and Prodgy from a young age, Crossfire was soon introduced to the Brisbane dance music scene through the Advent*jah parties from 1999 to the early 2000s where Hard House was king.  Soon after being a punter was no longer enough so he went out and bought a second-hand pair of Technics turntables and the dodgiest mixer the world has ever seen but it was sufficient to record a few demo CDs and finally score DJ spots at the harder dance parties with the largest being Mayhem.

Crossfire has gradually cemented his position in the Brisbane Hardcore scene by playing at countless parties over the years such as the massive Mayhem parties; the Thrillseeka series which prides itself in being 100% Hardcore along with the production values and attention to detail to match; Godspeed; and many smaller but no less important parties such as Fuze, various X-Stream parties, the legendary Operation Chonk, Autolysis, Chaos A.D., Doomsday, the notorious Summer Vibes, and many others.

Thanks to this exposure Crossfire has had the pleasure of playing at the same parties alongside well-known touring internationals such as Ruffneck, Ophidian, Dione, T-Junction, Catscan, Outblast, Evil Activities, Tommyknocker, Art of Fighters, Neophyte, The Playah, Panic, Angerfist, Mark N, Rob Gee, and Scythe to name but a few.

A Crossfire set is known for its predilection towards more melodic Hardcore tracks without going over-the-top with too much of an anthem overload. Recently however, his sets have been turned up a knotch when the time slot calls for it with pounding, brutal Hardcore while still including some melodic anthems and older newstyle classics. And if you listen closely you might even hear one of his very own creations in there too.

Crossfire was also involved in running/promoting the first Hardcore Maniacs Records party - HAMMERED in December 2008 which included no less than 3 live sets produced and performed by HCM Records artists. Crossfire featured in one of these alongside Flashpoint using tracks they created themselves over several months leading up to the party.

Crossfire is also involved in the development of this Hardcore Maniacs site.

FAVOURITE PRODUCERS:

Ophidian and Ruffneck because of their absolute attention to detail in their productions and never-ending commitment to push the Hardcore sound forward. Dione because of his unique and brutal kicks and quality of production in general. DJ Mad Dog because of some amazing distorted kicks and simply stellar releases such as Dangerous. T-Junction because of his melodies. Art of Fighters / Meccano Twins because of their ability to produce such a diverse range of quality tracks that just keeps comming. Promo for platinum productions and ability to knock out anything from euphoric melodies to brutal, brutal beats like 'Weapons of Devine Temper'. Evil Activities (except for 'that' track), Tommyknocker and heaps of other quality producers but I have to stop at some stage.

FAVOURITE EVENTS:

Nightmare in Rotterdam 2005 (Holland) especially the set by DJ Paul and a very special live set by Ophidian - magnificent. Thunderdome 2005 (Holland). Thrillseeka 8 (Brisbane) in which not only did many people here in Australia get to fulfill their dream of having Ruffneck tour to Brisbane and perform right here but it also included a pretty amazing back to back set with Ophidian - one of the most awesome sets I've ever seen.

FAVOURITE MOMENTS:

Being in Holland and witnessing the scale of the parties they run over there - seeing 10,000 Gabbers from front to back and side to side doing the hukka and all totally focussed on the music - and hearing 10 - 20 'internationals' in 1 night. Chilling out in Amsterdam in between parties and meeting some of the producers over there.

FAVOURITE LABELS:

Enzyme, Traxtorm, Neophyte, Hardcore Blasters, Megarave, Hardcore Maniacs Records ;)

WHAT DOES CROSSFIRE HAVE PLANNED FOR US IN THE FUTURE?:

Lots more chonkin sets and hopefully some bangin original tracks produced by yours truly along with a couple more HCM Records parties for good measure.
