BIO:
[too busy snorkelling]
HAS PLAYED AT:
Advent'jah, Dilate, System 6, Thrillseeka, Re-animator, Mayhem, Godspeed, Chaos AD, Doomsday, Autolysis, Fuze, Resonate amongst others.
HAS PLAYED ALONGSIDE ARTISTS SUCH AS:
Evil Acitivities, Endymion, Chosen Few, T-Junction, Neophyte, Ruffneck, Ophidian, Predator, Catscan, Outblast, Lenny Dee amongst others.
USUAL STYLE OF MUSIC:
Energetic Dutch hardcore which captures the essence of what is true and real to the core. i.e. music which is intense, interesting, with a lot happening, which may be overt and melodic in nature, or may include darker rougher tunes****
*** Note this does not stretch to tracks with poorly covered Coldplay vocals. In fact recent quality control mechanisms developed in the Flashpoint Laboratories are designed to counter the increasingly watered down, generic-trance-infused 'hardcore' - namely tunes FAIL if a new release contains a breakdown with a riff that would have perhaps sounded more fitting on a Gatecrasher CD from 1998 (usually they're not even that good either!)
FAVOURITE EVENTS:
THRILLSEEKA 8 (plus the events surrounding this party). Meeting with Ruffneck was always considered to be some sort of dream. But it happened. The event was spectacular. I played a set with Crossfire which was planned well out from the event and included some mash up experiments. It was rewarding when people at the party loved it.
MAYHEM winter 2005 - Great line-up (Evil Activities, Predator, Endymion). Great crowd and atmosphere. Plus last of the RNA parties that served the delicious nector from heaven.
FAVOURITE MOMENTS:
Meeting lots of crazy Dutch dudes eg. Predator, Ruffneck, Ophidian, Neophtye etc etc etc...
Feeling the force of atmosphere hit me in the face upon walking through the doors at THUNDERDOME, Utrecht December 2005
Playing at a recovery party New Years Day 2001 surrounded by various fools on trampolines, bikini babes, cab drivers, plus ring-ins. And chickens.
FAVOURITE PRODUCERS AND WHY:
Ruffneck - genius
Predator - loved all of his old stuff, and now glad to see he's back
Kasparov - good mix of quirky noises and atmosphere, with some great melodic tunes, minus the cheeeeeese
Dione - Prolific artist wth great sound and ideas
FAVOURITE LABELS:
Ruffneck Records, Mokum, Neophyte, Traxtorm (lately), Megarave
WHAT DOES FLASHPOINT HAVE PLANNED FOR US IN THE FUTURE:
sitting on the porch smoking a pipe
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Keep that hardcore bass fuckin' pumping!!
