What is Hardcore Maniacs Records?
"A record label that hasn't released any music? What's the deal?"
Firstly, a bit of history. Hardcore Maniacs (the 'Records' part came later) was started in 2003 by a very young Mika and a mate from Holland purely as a forum where Gabbers could chat about anything to do with Hardcore. This sort of thing wasn't that common back in the day so it attracted a large number of Hardcore fans and producers from all over the world especially The Netherlands and Australia.
This resulted in connecting DJs and producers to party promoters and label owners and apart from developing the scene in general has culminated in tracks getting pressed.
These days the artists associated with Hardcore Maniacs Records are actively producing Hardcore music themselves and hopefully, one day in the future, there will be a HCM001 release under the Hardcore Maniacs label. As it stands at least one of the artists, Bioxeed, has many official releases on established labels.
In the meantime, the website has evolved to become a portal for information mainly on DJs and producers in the South East Queensland area who specialise in harder dance music but we welcome anyone in the world to become part of the crew. Here you can find bios and profiles, photos from Hardcore parties, downloads of live recorded DJ sets, and most importantly we still have the good ol' Hardcore Maniacs forum.
